Healthy living is an important part of healing. As part of our Health and Wellness program, a nutritionist, Andria, held a workshop for the families in our residence last night.

Families learned that eating healthy is part of the healing journey and is another important way that you can take care of yourself. Andria shared nutrition values, and information from the Canada Food Guide, along with tricks to get your kids to eat well.

We know that it’s difficult to eat healthy when you’re on a budget, so Andria gave some tips on how to save money on groceries and how to cook healthy, affordable meals. The results were tasty! The group made baked apples with raisins and honey, and the kids really enjoyed taking part.
