E-VAW - Know The Signs!

Electronic violence can be occur through phone, email, text messages, social media accounts, blogs, and any other tech-based platform that spreads information.

It can be easy to look at all this information and say, “That doesn’t apply to me.” But, in our experience, many women don’t know they are victims of electronic violence until it’s too late.

Are you experiencing any of these signs of electronic violence?

  • Online messages, texts, calls, etc. which are negative, explicit, insulting or threatening
  • Unsolicited and frequent contact on one or several social media and/or technological platforms
  • Manipulative behavior (ex. threatening to die by suicide in order to get a response).
  • Having rumours spread about you electronically
  • Hacking into your private accounts
  • Someone pretending to be you and contacting your friends, families, co-workers, etc.
  • Posting or sharing personal content, pictures, and information online without permission
  • Harassment when you log onto your personal accounts
  • GPS tracking – (ex. experiences where your partner seems to know where you are or have been, even if you didn’t tell them)

If any of this sounds familiar, get help immediately!
