Basic. Elegant. Simple. Sustainable.

John Gerhardt, Jennifer Cranston, and Jackie Shawn have a combined 100 years of experience in the fashion industry, and last night they shared their knowledge with a group of eager BESS clients.

In a two-hour Life Skills Workshop, John, Jennifer and Jackie helped women understand the importance of appearance in advancing their careers. Their key piece of advice? “Dress for the job you want, not the job you have.”

Women in the workshop learned about fitting in while standing out in a corporate environment. They learned how to put together classic wardrobe staples and balanced make-up to make the best first impression possible and to keep their skills front and centre. To make it easy, they gave some key words to think about: Basic, elegant, simple and sustainable.

The impact of this workshop was huge. Women walked out excited and more confident. With their new knowledge and the career guidance they receive from BESS, they’re well on their way to finding fulfilling, long-term jobs - one more step closer to transforming their lives!
