On Monday, June 6th we hosted our first annual BESS Graduation ceremony to celebrate 20 amazing, inspiring graduates! Our valedictorian, Beyhan, encouraged graduates to sail with the wind and reach new heights! We couldn’t have said it better ourselves!
And we recognized the special achievements of 3 remarkable women.
Interval House lost a dear member of our family this past fall, the much-celebrated Ann Southam. Ann was a renowned composer, member of the Order of Canada and dedicated Interval House supporter.
In honour of Ann and her generosity, Interval House will name one of the B.E.S.S. graduation awards after her. At its inaugural presentation, Ann’s brother Kip Southam presented the Ann Southam Leadership Award.
At Interval House, we believe it's important to learn the value of giving back.
At the kitchen table last week, Interval House's Children's Counsellor Advocates helped our kids make origami paper cranes and write poems for the families who survived the devastating earthquake and tsunami in Japan.
Check out our Facebook page for more pictures of their artwork and poetry.
Canada Post is on strike.
What does this mean for you?
Interval House strives to ensure that we communicate with you in a timely manner. During the postal strike you can expect that our written correspondence with you, including tax receipts, will take much longer to reach you.
You can also expect that any letters or donations you are sending by mail will take longer to be received by us.
On June 1st, over 300 golfers braved the strong winds at Angus Glen to raise money for the women and children at Interval House! For the fourth year in a row, the Federation of Rental-Housing Providers of Ontario (FRPO) held their Annual Spring Golf Classic and this year they raised more than ever. After tallying up the ticket sales, raffle sales, live and silent auction, FRPO raised over $29,000!
Thank you to FRPO and all its members for such a wonderful event!
